The Big Sky Conference announced on Apr. 24 that 61 University of Idaho student-athletes have been named to the 2025-26 Winter All-Academic Team, recognizing their academic achievements during the basketball and indoor track and field seasons.
This recognition highlights the commitment of student-athletes to both their sports and academics. The conference honored a total of 545 student-athletes from its member institutions, with Idaho contributing the fourth-highest number of honorees.
Seven men’s basketball players, nine women’s basketball players, nineteen men’s indoor track athletes, and twenty-six women’s indoor track athletes from Idaho were included on this year’s list. “Congratulations to the 545 student-athletes that make up our Winter All-Academic Team for the 2025-26 season,” Big Sky Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. “This group of individuals is setting a fantastic example for both their teammates and classmates and truly stand for what the Big Sky Conference is all about as we continue putting an emphasis on every career concluding with a diploma in hand.”
Eligibility for the All-Academic team required student-athletes to participate in at least half of their team’s competitions, maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale at term’s end, and complete at least one academic term at their current institution within the conference. For those in indoor track and field, participation in either half of team competitions or competition at the Conference Championship Meet was necessary.
