Under direction of the Engineering Manager/City Engineer, perform semi-skilled to advanced skill level of technical work including engineering design and drafting, survey field support, construction inspection, records management, and related technical engineering tasks for the Engineering Department.

Technician level is an entry-level position that performs assigned duties under the direction of direct supervision.

Senior level performs the full range of duties with relative independence in selecting methods and resolving routine problems.

Principal level performs skilled technical tasks in support of engineering projects and programs. Work at this level is characterized by the independent application of standard engineering procedures and techniques to accomplish a wide variety of work in the office and/or field.
