The Idaho Vandals women’s basketball team secured a decisive 84-54 victory over the Denver Pioneers in Denver, improving their season record to 8-2. This marks Idaho’s best start since the 2003-04 season, when they began 9-1.

The game started with Denver taking an early lead, but Idaho quickly regained control and maintained momentum throughout the contest. By halftime, Gardner had nearly achieved a double-double, recording 11 points and nine rebounds. She went on to set a new personal best with 12 rebounds and completed her first career double-double. Gardner’s performance also marked the third double-double by a Vandal player this season.

Idaho demonstrated strong offensive play, converting at least ten three-point shots for the first time this season and shooting above 50 percent from beyond the arc.

Following the game, Head Coach Arthur Moreira commented: “Great bounce back win. I was not happy with our effort and lack of toughness in Wednesday’s game. I thought the team responded really well today and played hard for the entirety of the game. We need to continue to get better as a team, and I think we did that today.”

In addition to Gardner’s standout performance, other Vandals contributed significantly in both scoring and assists throughout each quarter. The team’s defense limited Denver to just 11 points in the fourth quarter, helping secure a comfortable margin of victory.

With this win, Idaho added another point for the Big Sky Conference in the ongoing Big Sky-Summit Challenge and earned their second true road victory of the season.

The Vandals will continue their road trip with a game against California on December 10 at 7 p.m. Updates regarding television broadcasts and live statistics will be made available on govandals.com as details are confirmed.
