The Big Sky Conference announced on April 13 its Track and Field Athletes of the Week, with Idaho earning three out of four available honors. The awards included recognition for both women’s and men’s relay teams as well as a standout heptathlete.

The announcement is significant for Idaho’s track and field program, highlighting strong performances by several athletes in recent competitions. The team now joins Northern Arizona and Montana State as the only schools to earn at least three out of four weekly conference awards this year.

Tait made her outdoor season debut at the Bryan Clay Multis in Azusa, achieving personal bests in multiple events including the 800 meters (2:23.92) and 100-meter hurdles (13.99). She also placed among the top five in javelin, 200 meters, and shot put, finishing with a total of 5,511 points in the heptathlon—a new personal record. This is Tait’s second Athlete of the Week honor this calendar year after previously being recognized during indoor season.

At the Jeff Rahn Classic in Spokane, Idaho’s women’s 4×100 meter relay team set a new school record with a time of 44.90 seconds—improving upon their own mark from just one week earlier—and finished more than three seconds ahead of their nearest competitor. The men’s 4×100 meter relay team also delivered a notable performance by winning first place with a time of 40.15 seconds, marking it as one of the fastest times in school history since 2002.

With these latest recognitions, Idaho has now earned five Athlete of the Week honors during this outdoor season alone and eight total since January.

Looking ahead, Idaho will compete at California’s Bryan Clay Invite from April 15 to April 18.
