According to the Council of Economic Advisers (CEA), the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) is projected to increase real wages in Idaho by $3,600 to $6,400 over the next four years. The bill is expected to benefit many Idahoans through tax advantages for seniors and eliminating taxes on tips and overtime. Furthermore, it will safeguard 35,000 jobs in Idaho that might have been jeopardized if the Trump tax cuts had expired.

The OBBB’s impact on wages and take-home pay in Idaho includes an inflation-adjusted wage increase of approximately $3,600 to $6,400 over four years. A typical family with two children may see a rise in take-home pay between $7,200 and $10,200 due to the bill. Additionally, 300,000 seniors could gain from tax relief provisions tailored for them. About 24 percent of employees who regularly work overtime may also benefit from no taxation on their extra hours.

In terms of employment and business implications, OBBB aims to protect about 35,000 full-time equivalent jobs over the next four years. Approximately 41,000 firms in Idaho could qualify for a permanent small business deduction under this law. The Opportunity Zone program will become permanent through OBBB, encouraging more investment in low-income communities across Idaho.
