The Big Sky Conference has released its 2026 preseason polls for men’s and women’s tennis, ranking teams based on coaches’ projections for the upcoming season.

Idaho Men’s Tennis was ranked fourth among eight teams in the conference, earning 33 points in the poll. This matches the program’s highest preseason projection since their current head coach began his tenure three years ago.

A standout player for Idaho returns this year after receiving an All-Conference Singles Honorable Mention and being named to the second team for doubles last season. The Vandals missed the Big Sky Tournament during the 2023-24 season but rebounded to secure the #4 seed and defeated Weber State in the first round of last year’s bracket.

In this year’s poll, Idaho is placed just above Montana State and narrowly trails Idaho State, which took third place. Montana leads the poll with six out of eight first-place votes, followed by Northern Arizona, who had been picked as favorites in each of the previous two seasons.

The full rankings are as follows: Montana (first), Northern Arizona (second), Idaho State (third), Idaho (fourth), Montana State (fifth), Weber State (sixth), Sacramento State (seventh), and Portland State (eighth).
