The Idaho Men’s Tennis team concluded its 2025-26 season against Montana State at the Big Sky Conference Tournament, according to an April 23 announcement. Idaho lost to Montana State by a score of 4-2, ending their campaign with an overall record of 8-18.
The match was significant for the Vandals as they sought to avenge a previous loss to the Bobcats. In doubles play, Idaho showed strong performance, winning both contested matches and securing the doubles point. The teams were evenly matched early on court two before Idaho pulled ahead for a final score of 6-3.
In singles competition, freshman Valentine Glasl overcame an early deficit on court six by winning eight consecutive games and ultimately clinching his match in straight sets. Despite these efforts, Idaho was unable to secure enough singles victories and fell short in advancing further in the tournament.
After the match, Chetanna Amadike played his final college contest and gave his last speech as team captain during a post-match team meeting. The Vandals expressed gratitude toward their supporters throughout the season, including those who participated in Vandal Giving Day and attended weekly community clinics.
As the season concludes, players and coaches reflected on their experiences together over the past year. The program thanked its supporters and closed with encouragement for continued community involvement.
