Idaho Football announced on May 6 that Israel Carter and Da’Vaughn Robinson have signed with the Vandals for the upcoming 2026 season. Both players are expected to join the team in time for summer workouts and fall camp.
The addition of Carter, a quarterback from Corona, California, and Robinson, a defensive lineman from Avondale, Arizona, comes as Idaho seeks to strengthen its roster following spring training. The coaching staff said they are looking forward to seeing how these new recruits will contribute in the fall.
Israel Carter is a 6-foot-1 quarterback who played four games for Norfolk State in 2025 under head coach Michael Vick. He completed 58 percent of his passes for 127 yards and added another 40 yards rushing. Previously, he spent two seasons at South Florida where he appeared in seven games and threw four touchdowns during the 2024 season. As a high school senior at Centennial High School in California, Carter amassed over 2,400 all-purpose yards and scored 34 touchdowns while leading his team to the state playoffs. He was invited to participate in both the U.S. Army All-America Bowl—where he ran for a touchdown—and the Under Armour Next All-America Camp where he earned Quarterback MVP honors.
Da’Vaughn Robinson is a defensive lineman who played at Moorpark College during the previous season. At Moorpark College, Robinson led his team with seven sacks—tying him for third place within their conference—and helped anchor a defense that topped their league with thirty-four total sacks. He also recorded fourteen tackles-for-loss totaling seventy-nine yards lost and forced one fumble during that campaign. In high school at La Joya Community High School, Robinson registered sixty-three tackles (twelve for loss), six sacks (top three in his division), nine carries for thirty-one rushing yards including one touchdown, as well as ten receptions totaling one hundred eighteen receiving yards.
Both athletes will be joining established position groups: Carter enters an experienced quarterback room while Robinson adds depth to an already familiar defensive front line.
