The Idaho Vandals women’s golf team will begin play at the Big Sky Championship on April 20 at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona.

The event marks a significant opportunity for the Vandals, who are ranked sixth among the ten teams competing. Sacramento State and Northern Arizona University are considered favorites for the title, but Idaho aims to deliver a strong performance as it concludes its season.

Laura Caamaño leads the Vandals as their top golfer following her seventh-place finish at the Georgia State Invitational and a solid showing with a 38th-place finish at the Bobcat Desert Classic. A freshman player recently joined the lineup and finished highest among teammates with a 26th place result at last week’s Bobcat Desert Classic; she will be Idaho’s number two golfer during this championship.

The tournament consists of three days of play over 54 holes on Wigwam Resort’s Blue course, which is set up for 5,981 yards and plays as a par-71. The first tee time for Idaho is scheduled for 7:50 a.m., with groups starting every ten minutes thereafter.

Looking ahead, live scoring and additional championship information are expected to be available online throughout the event.
