Idaho Vandals women’s tennis falls to Northern Arizona 6-1 in Flagstaff

The Idaho Vandals women’s tennis team lost 6-1 to the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in a match held on April 11 in Flagstaff. The contest marked Idaho’s second-to-last regular season match.

This result is significant as it impacts the team’s momentum heading into their final regular season game. Idaho’s record now stands at 10-9, while Northern Arizona improves to 7-6.

The match began with doubles play at 10 a.m., where the Lumberjacks secured the doubles point by winning two of three matches. The third doubles match was left unfinished with a score of 4-4. In singles competition, only one win came for Idaho from court six, with Singh earning a straight-set victory, 6-3, 6-2. All other singles matches went in favor of Northern Arizona.

Detailed results show that Elen Jantacova and Natalie Rainke (NAU) defeated their opponents from Idaho in doubles, as did Patryc Niewiadomska and Andrea Noguera (NAU). In singles play, Niewiadomska (NAU), Noguera (NAU), Jantacova (NAU), and Stojanovic (NAU) each secured wins against their respective Vandal competitors.

Looking ahead, the Vandals will prepare for their final regular season matchup against Eastern Washington on Saturday, April 18 at 11 a.m.
