Idaho women’s basketball will travel to Denver for their second game in the 2025 Big Sky-Summit Challenge, facing the Denver Pioneers on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. PT.
The Vandals have started the season strong with a 7-2 record and opened the year ranked 93 in the NET rankings. They are recognized as one of the fastest teams nationally and have excelled in rebounding, ranking fourth in Division I with an average of 49.1 rebounds per game. Idaho also leads the Big Sky Conference in scoring offense, averaging 85 points per game, which places them 18th nationally.
The team’s balanced offensive approach has resulted in four players averaging double-digit points this season. Hassmann and Gardner received the first two Big Sky Conference Player of the Week awards this year. Idaho has scored at least 76 points in every game so far and surpassed 82 points in seven out of nine games.
Denver enters the matchup with a 3-5 record and is coming off a narrow loss to Eastern Washington at the start of their Big Sky-Summit Challenge schedule. Earlier this season, they defeated Northern Colorado by three points. Unlike Idaho’s fast-paced style, Denver typically plays slower games, with scores ranging between 50 and 67 points over their first eight contests.
Additional notes highlight that Idaho has made 65 three-pointers this season and that Debora Dos Santos recently recorded her second double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds. The Vandals lead their conference not only in scoring but also assists (15.3 per game), blocks (5.2), rebound margin (11.7), defensive rebounds (31.3), offensive rebounds (17.8), and total rebounds (49.1) per game.
Idaho was listed as a No.13 seed in ESPN’s most recent bracketology projection for postseason play.
