Idaho Women’s Tennis won against Eastern Washington, 4-0, in the first round of the Big Sky Conference Tournament on April 23 in Phoenix.

The win allows Idaho to advance to the second round of the tournament, where they will face top-seeded Sacramento State. The Vandals had previously beaten Sacramento State during the regular season.

Idaho gained early momentum by winning the doubles point through victories on courts one and two. In singles play, Xu led with a quick win, not allowing her opponent any points in the second set. Johannson and Singh also won their matches in straight sets without losing more than two games per set. Koprowska was leading her match before play concluded due to Idaho clinching overall victory.

The final score was Idaho 4, Eastern Washington 0. This result improves Idaho’s record to 11-10 for the season while Eastern Washington stands at 11-9.

Next, Idaho will compete against Sacramento State at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24.
