The City of Lewiston announced on May 1 that residents are invited to participate in shaping the future of transportation in East Lewiston through an upcoming Open House and digital forum.

This initiative gives community members a chance to learn about proposed roadway connections, ask questions, and provide feedback as part of a long-range planning effort for the area. The plan, known as ELTNA, aims to create a blueprint for future arterial and collector roadways in northeast Lewiston. The boundaries for this project are generally defined by Gun Club Road, Lindsay Creek Road, and Warner Avenue.

A digital Open House will be available from May 1 through May 12 at https://arcg.is/0H1CbK0 for those unable to attend in person. Organizers say this online option is designed to ensure broad participation from the community.

According to the announcement, ELTNA will help guide growth while maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow. It is intended to support coordination between the City of Lewiston, Nez Perce County, and private developers so that roadway construction can be phased alongside new development projects.

The city referenced findings from a previous study titled “Thain Road Corridor and Access Study” (Resolution 2024-43), which identified congestion issues on major routes such as Thain Road, 21st Street, and Bryden Avenue. Officials said that ELTNA builds upon these findings by proactively planning where future traffic will go before additional demand arises due to new development.
