On Saturday, Nov. 29, former Sandpoint High School standout Arie VanDenBerg’s current collegiate team the Chapman Panthers lost 7-58 against the UW River Falls Falcons in the NCAA Division III Football Championship.
The game took place at Smith Stadium at 10 a.m. and was the first matchup against the UW River Falls Falcons in the tournament.
Two University of Idaho athletes have qualified for this week’s NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships following standout seasons. Sturgis will compete in men’s javelin while Paoli races in women’s steeplechase; both events can be viewed on ESPN+.

The Big Sky Conference has named its attendees for the upcoming Football Kickoff weekend in Spokane this July. Idaho Vandals head coach Thomas Ford will attend alongside two key returning players. The event features a Hall of Fame Gala honoring several conference legends.
