Senator Mike Crapo, a U.S. Senator representing Idaho, used his Twitter account on July 29 and 30, 2025, to advocate for reforms aimed at increasing affordable housing. In a post dated July 29, Crapo called for changes to existing regulations, stating, “It is time to throw out established norms and cut bureaucratic hurdles that stand in the way of innovative designs to increasing affordable housing. The Housing Supply Expansion Act would do just that by modernizing the federal definition of ‘manufactured housing’ to include”.
The following day, Crapo emphasized the importance of housing in American life and highlighted concerns from his constituents: “Homes are the foundation for economic success, family stability and community cohesiveness. Unfortunately, lack of affordable housing is routinely the number one concern I hear from Idahoans.
