On August 19, 2025, Senator Crapo pointed to local economic development as a result of the bill: “2nd South Market in Twin Falls is a shining example of the Opportunity Zone Program that was made permanent under the One Big Beautiful Bill. This is another instance of how our bill will create more jobs and revitalize once-forgotten communities across the country.”
A day later, on August 20, 2025, he addressed efforts to tackle housing issues alongside federal officials: “I was honored to join HUD @SecretaryTurner for a roundtable in Boise to discuss housing affordability—the number one challenge for many Idahoans. The One Big Beautiful Bill includes permanent authorization for programs such as Opportunity Zones—designed to encourage investment in distressed areas—and expansion of tax incentives like those found in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit initiatives. Such measures are intended by supporters like Senator Crapo to drive investment into underserved communities and address key challenges facing residents and producers.
