Senator Mike Crapo, representing Idaho in the U.S. Senate, used his social media platform to mark several significant occasions and share messages of support and remembrance between December 13 and December 15, 2025.

On December 13, Senator Crapo acknowledged the annual Wreaths Across America event, stating: “As part of Wreaths Across America, we honor our fallen heroes today by laying wreaths at their final resting places. @WreathsAcross’ annual tribute ensures their service and sacrifice are never forgotten by a grateful nation.” The Wreaths Across America program is a national initiative that coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at veterans’ cemeteries across the United States to remember and honor military personnel who have died in service.

Later that day, he commemorated the founding anniversary of a major U.S. military institution. On December 13, Crapo wrote: “Happy 389th Birthday to the U.S. National Guard! We celebrate this vital force of citizen soldiers, including the brave men and women of the Idaho National Guard, who stand ready to serve our communities at home and protect our interests abroad. Thank you for your continued” The National Guard is one of the oldest components of the U.S. armed forces, tracing its origins back to colonial militias established in 1636.

On December 15, Senator Crapo extended holiday greetings to Jewish families while addressing concerns about antisemitism worldwide: “Wishing a peaceful Hanukkah to Jewish families celebrating in Idaho and across the globe. Antisemitic violence like we witnessed in Australia must be eradicated everywhere. May Jewish families everywhere be able to celebrate the Festival of Lights without fear of harm.” His comments referenced recent incidents of antisemitic violence in Australia and called for global efforts to combat such acts.

Senator Crapo has previously emphasized honoring military service members and denouncing hate crimes as key priorities during his tenure in Congress.
