Which former North Idaho area high school athletes will be active on Thursday, Aug. 28?

The Idaho Vandals have signed wide receiver Markel Taylor from Sacramento City College to strengthen their offense ahead of the upcoming football season. Taylor joins a talented group of receivers as preparations begin for fall camp.

An Idaho athlete won her heat at Fayetteville’s NCAA West First Round and qualified for nationals in steeplechase. Both she and teammate Blake Sturgis are set to compete next month at Hayward Field.

Three Idaho Vandals football games are set for national broadcast during the upcoming season as part of an expanded presence on ESPN networks. The team’s opener against Cal Poly and an October matchup with Montana State headline this slate.
