Rep. Russ Fulcher criticizes federal decisions affecting Idaho

Rep. Russ Fulcher, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Idaho's 1st district, has expressed his views on several issues through a series of tweets. Fulcher, who succeeded Raúl Labrador in 2019 and previously served in the Idaho Senate from 2005 to 2014, has been vocal about his concerns regarding federal government actions and his support for upcoming administrative changes.

On December 8, 2024, Fulcher criticized the Biden administration's handling of the Lava Ridge Wind Project in Southern Idaho. He stated, "The Biden administration’s disregard of Idahoans’ clear disapproval of the Lava Ridge Wind Project in Southern Idaho is despicable." He emphasized the need to prevent federal overreach into state matters and expressed anticipation for working with the Trump administration starting January 20.

In a tweet dated December 9, 2024, Fulcher addressed dissatisfaction with Washington D.C.'s political climate. He declared his support for President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet choices and conveyed eagerness to collaborate on policies beneficial to both Idahoans and Americans at large: "Folks are fed up with Washington, D.C.’s status quo."

On December 10, 2024, Fulcher highlighted the importance of the lower Snake River dams to the Northwest region. He described their dual role as energy producers and key facilitators of agricultural exports: "The lower Snake River dams are a vital nexus to the Northwest." Fulcher reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding this infrastructure.
