Rep. Russ Fulcher, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Idaho’s 1st district, recently shared insights on various issues through his social media posts. These tweets address international agreements to combat drug trafficking, concerns over foreign involvement in the U.S. fentanyl crisis, and discussions on budgetary constraints affecting national services.

On February 4, 2025, Rep. Fulcher commented on recent diplomatic efforts by former President Trump regarding drug trafficking: "In a matter of 48 hours, President Trump successfully negotiated deals with Canada and Mexico to combat the flow of deadly fentanyl coming across our borders and into American communities." He further elaborated that Canada has committed to implementing a $1.3 billion border plan aimed at strengthening its northern border.

Later that day, Fulcher highlighted the role of China in the ongoing fentanyl crisis in the United States: "The Chinese Communist Party is at the root of the U.S.’s fentanyl crisis." Citing a report from 2024, he stated that China is allegedly subsidizing the production and export of fentanyl which subsequently reaches Mexican cartels before being trafficked into America.

On February 5, 2025, Fulcher addressed fiscal challenges faced by federal agencies amid growing national debt: "With a national debt of $36 trillion, the Forest Service budget will likely see a decrease." He advocated for empowering local resources to help prevent wildfires and expressed gratitude towards CBS2Boise for facilitating discussions on this topic during a roundtable event in Cascade.
