The City is required to conduct flushing of the water system each year to minimize iron flocculation build up in the distribution system and to keep your water safe! During flushing, you may notice some discoloration of the water in your home. It is recommended that residents run their cold water (followed by hot water) for 10-15 minutes to clear local lines. It is also recommended that residents with a water softener or whole-house filters perform a regular maintenance after City flushing in your area is complete.
Remaining flushing will be performed from 8am to 3:30pm based on the following schedule:
• Oct. 10 & 11 - Main St west to the City Limits between D St and Taylor Ave
•Oct. 12 & 13 - D St north to the City Limits between Almond St and Polk St and from Taylor Ave south to Palouse River Drive, including the Frontier addition
•Oct. 13 & 14 - 6th St north to the City limits between Polk St and Mountain View Rd and Fort Russell neighborhood
•Oct. 17 & 18 - 6th St south to the Troy Highway and east to Mountain View Rd and Indian Hills Addition
