Rep. Russ Fulcher, a U.S. Congressman representing Idaho’s 1st district since 2019, recently shared a series of tweets regarding his legislative efforts to promote geothermal energy in the United States. The tweets provide insights into the progress and objectives of his bill, the CLEAN Act.

On November 19, 2024, Rep. Fulcher highlighted the potential of geothermal energy as an "energy giant for America." He mentioned that his bill, the CLEAN Act, was up for consideration on the House floor that evening and urged his colleagues to support it in order to "increase domestic power production and diversify the U.S.’s energy portfolio." "Geothermal has the potential to be an energy giant for America."

Later that day, he expressed satisfaction with the passage of H.R. 1449, known as the CLEAN Act, through the House of Representatives. The bill was set to proceed to the Senate for further consideration. Rep. Fulcher emphasized geothermal's role in providing "reliable, clean energy for millions of Americans" and its importance in reducing reliance on other forms of energy."I am very pleased to see my bill...pass the House and head to the Senate!"

On November 20, 2024, Rep. Fulcher thanked Speaker Johnson while highlighting that nearly 90% of America's geothermal resources are located on federally managed lands. He introduced the CLEAN Act aiming to remove bureaucratic obstacles and mandate increased lease opportunities by the Department of Interior to enhance exploration and development efforts."Thank you @SpeakerJohnson! Nearly 90%...are located on federally managed lands."
